Toll Plaza Supervisor
The South Bay Expressway completes the north-south link between State Route 54 and the Otay Mesa International border crossing in San Diego, California.
Reporting to Roadway Toll Plaza Supervisor, your general responsibilities will include:
- Supervise employee actions, including all aspects of money, traffic, service, and personnel
- Train, direct, motivate, evaluate, counsel, and develop toll personnel
- Perform vault removals and maintain correct vault inventory
- Complete and maintain reports such as Roadway Daily Reports, Incident, Personnel, etc
- Manage traffic control and lane closures
- Perform and document security and facilities inspections
- Conduct monthly emergency and safety training drills and other training courses
- Assume all functions of a Toll Attendant on as needed
- Handle emergency situations (vehicle, customer, traffic, or other emergencies)
- Observe contractors working on The South Bay Expressway via system monitors to ensure compliance with safety processes and procedures
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic:
- Supervisory experience, preferably in cash handling and customer service
- A customer service professional
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis
- Ability to operate a personal computer and prepare written reports
- Ability to resolve Toll Attendant or customer disputes while maintaining a professional, positive image of service and efficiency
- Ability to assess a situation quickly; establish priorities, and perform multiple tasks
- Ability to take effective action in emergencies
- Associates degree in business related field or equivalent experience preferred
- Excellent people skills
- Must have a valid California motor vehicle license/ good DMV record.
- Required to pass written and/or oral test(s) prior to being hired
- Employment references, drug test and criminal background checks are conducted

Hours - Sunday, Monday 5:45am - 2:15pm and Wednesday 1:45pm - 10:15pm (24 hours)
